We know that going plastic free can be tricky, so here are a few tips to help reduce your everyday plastic use!

Say no to disposable cutlery

Whilst it’s hard to plan for every opportunity, consider carrying a spoon or fork (or spork!) in your bag or keeping cutlery in your desk at work.

Carry a reusable bottle

In the UK we use over 35 million plastic bottles every day! Carrying a reusable bottle is a great way to cut your plastic use and save money too!

Stop using plastic straws

Plastic straws are bad news for our oceans, try to avoid using them, even in restaurants! If a straw is a must, why not purchase a reusable stainless steel straw?

Say no to microbeads!

These little beads are commonly added to face-wash and toothpaste, but many wastewater treatment facilities aren’t able to stop them from entering our oceans. Brands such as Estée Lauder and Nivea are now moving away from using microbeads to become more ethical, so why not try using microbead-free products!

Bring your own shopping bags

13 billion plastic carrier bags are used in the UK each year, so carrying your own when you pop to the shops can really make a difference!

Whether it’s making different choices in the supermarket or choosing a different place to shop, we can all try and cut down the plastic we buy.
